Dr Misbah Khan, President and Founder of M Khan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery and Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College, is nationally and internationally recognized for her innovative contributions towards the therapeutic applications of lasers in dermatology, fat grafting for facial asymmetries and deformities, treatment of Cellulite and for total body contouring and cutaneous oncology. M Khan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery is a AAAHC certified facility and is in full compliance with New York State Department of Health for performing out-patient surgeries in fully certified Operating Room located at the office.

Dr Khan received her training in Medicine and Dermatology from Drexel College of Medicine and Rutgers University. She did four years of Laser Research Fellowship at Wellman Labs of Photomedicine, Department of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School under the supervision of Richard Rox Anderson, MD in Boston and two years at Beckman Laser Institute at University of California Irvine. It was during her laser fellowships where she invented magnetic tattoo ink that can be easily removed with lasers and magnets. This patent is now owned by the company Freedom II Inc. She is also the inventor of a topically applied “Optical Clearing Cream” for which she has received numerous awards by the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). While at Harvard, Dr Khan authored one of the first scientific articles on the technology of Fractional Resurfacing (now commonly referred to as Fraxel). She has performed several laser resurfacing procedures on patients with lighter as well as darker skin types (Fraxel as well as CO2 laser resurfacing). She is one the world's expert on Cellulite and her research in the various treatments of Cellulite is acknowledged all over the world. Dr Khan also did a fellowship in an ACGME and American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) approved Mohs Surgery and Cosmetic Procedural/Surgical Dermatology fellowship program at Northwestern University in Chicago. She has done extensive research in the treatment of advanced melanomas using lasers and photosensitizing drugs. Media appearances such as National Geographic Society Special, Fox 5 and abc News have acknowledged her work on tattoo inks and laser tattoo removal as well as her expertise in correction of facial deformities such as Parry Romberg Syndrome (hemi-facial atrophy, Morphea), asymmetries/defects post cosmetic surgeries and post-liposuction defects.

Dr Khan is also an expert in the non-surgical as well as surgical treatments for hair loss, especially due to Thyroid hormone abnormalities. Dr Khan is one of the very few doctors in the country to offer customized injectable treatments with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Elemental Tissue Matrix which not only enhances the efficacy of PRP but also makes it last longer than PRP alone.

Dr Khan is a pioneer of the state of art surgery for knee skin tightening called “Knee Contouring” . Her procedures have been shown on several TV networks such as abc News, Fox 5 News and Pix11 News to name a few. Dr Khan also works directly with the leading laser companies in pioneering the latest technologies regarding treatment of cellulite, skin rejuvenation and laser.

Dr Khan is a member of several organizations, most importantly, American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and New York Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Dr Khan has published in several indexed journals: The Journal of Investigative Dermatology; Journal of American Academy of Dermatology; Archives of Dermatology; Dermatologic Surgery; Cutis and Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. Dr Khan has also authored several book chapters on cosmetic surgeries, body contouring and lasers.
